Serving the Community Meal
A message from Pastor Erling Shultz:
Good afternoon all, please share this with any that are interested.
Community Meals ministry is facing an uncertain future. Leadership is stepping aside after 14 years of passionate effectiveness to focus energy on family. We honor and praise Lyn Evans for making Community Meals the ministry it has become.
Community Meals has not only supplied meals for the hungry and a space for those needing to serve God, but has also brought fellowship, connection, assurance, dignity, and hope to all who have participated. Community Meals has made God’s love a personal reality for many. This church and the community have voiced a desire for this impactful ministry to continue.
You, any, and all interested congregants are invited to a community gathering Tuesday March 24, 5:30pm in Friendship Hall of the Iowa Falls United Methodist Church to explore how and the ways in which this ministry carries on. Bring your voice, your ideas, and your willingness to serve as we work to be a part of God’s ongoing Kingdom in our community.
Peace - Pastor Erling
Volunteers from Bethany, First United Methodist, and around the community help serve a community meal Wednesdays from September through May. Hosted by the Iowa Falls First United Methodist Church, we serve around 550 meals every week. All are welcome to dine in, carry out, or have a meal delivered to them. The meals are free and covered through free will donations. for anyone.
Volunteers are always welcome for meal prep, serving, delivery, and clean up. To volunteer, please contact the Iowa Falls First United Methodist Church.
